Barry McGuigan Daughter Nika : On the fourth anniversary of the passing of his late daughter, boxing champion Barry McGuigan paid a moving tribute to her.
Danika ‘Nika’ McGuigan, 33, tragically passed away from cancer in July 2019.

She was a skilled performer who appeared in the drama thriller films Wildfire and Can’t Cope, Won’t Cope, for which she received a posthumous IFTA Award.

It’s hard to imagine that Nika has been gone four years today, Barry remarked on Twitter.

“I don’t think we’ll ever be able to accept it. Every day we think of you and miss you.

Barry, a native of Monaghan, has already acknowledged that he will “never recover” from Danika’s passing.

He battled back tears as he said, “I lost my daughter two years ago, and it’s been shocking,” on The Tommy Tiernan Show. I’ll never be the same again. My family is everything to me, therefore although my life will move on, I will never be the same.

She was such a wonderful child. Her entire life was difficult. When she was nine months old, she experienced fever convulsions; when she arrived at the hospital, they had to revive her because her heart had stopped; when she was eleven years old, she was diagnosed with leukaemia; however, she overcame it.

“I could never have persisted with that if something had happened to me in the course of my profession. As a fighter, I’m not sure if I could have bounced back from that.
